Tommy Knight and Danny Anthony to present CBBC!

October 28, 2009

As people who’ve looked at the SJA homepage today might know, Tommy Knight and Danny Anthony will be presenting CBBC tomorrow! Here is the article, the website’s at the bottom of this post.

To celebrate the latest episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures, part one of ‘The Wedding Of Sarah Jane’, on CBBC on BBC One at 5.15pm Thursday, Tommy Knight & Danny Anthony (Luke and Clyde) are paying a visit to the CBBC channel on Thursday 29th October! They’ll be joining the CBBC presenters all day, taking part in a whole day of Sarah Jane related fun.

Kicking off with Dan and Jeff in the morning (9.30am – 12.30pm) they’ll try to solve some spooky goings on in the CBBC office. Then in the afternoon (3.25 – 7.00pm) Tommy and Danny join Iain and Hacker to answer viewer questions. Do you wanna know what it’s like to travel in time? To battle the Trickster? Or meet K9? If you’re aged 6-12, post your questions for Tommy and Danny on this thread, or email them directly to

If, like me, you’re at school tommorow, then the in-between-shows bits should be on you tube, there’s a whole load of Iain and Hacker there. I’ll be setting timers on my tv to catch the good stuff. 🙂

Finally, I’m working on something uber-special for SJA news! I’m not going to say what it is yet but it should be here before Sunday. No promises though.

SJA news 😛

What happened in Liverpool…

October 25, 2009

I didn’t miss out on a lot while I was away, except the Mad Woman in the Attic of course, but I had it all set to record so I watched it when we got back. At the hotel there was a bright orange drink I was addicted to which said it was called ‘Mandarin Soda’ but I think it was secretly Bubbleshock!

I was completely addicted to the stuff... :D

I was completely addicted to the stuff... 😀

And now on to the uber-cool special screening I went to yesterday in Liverpool! I can remember most of what happened, so I’ve done a little diary here…

3.30am Woke up. I thought I’d overslept at first and my alarm hadn’t gone off properly or something but it was all fine, obviously.

6am Collected my friend from her house. It was still pitch black but at least we were in a car and not walking to Waverley station.

7am Train left the station. Bored bored bored bored bored for 3 1/2 hours. I had my new issue of Doctor Who magazine which I found (finally!) at the station, though.

10.30am The train arrived in Lime St. I had been hoping for lime trees or something related to limes (they’re my favourite fruit) but it turns out the station’s named after the limestone.

11am Found the ODEON centre! But we weren’t really sure what to do with the tickets and the lanyards and everything. Then someone in a CBBC t-shirt told us to come back in a couple of hours. We found more CBBC people inside startbucks, so maybe the organiser people don’t have coffee backstage?

11.30am Really bored, so we came back and saw Danny (Anthony) doing photos with people! But by the time it was my turn he’d gone so we decided to come back to the photos later. However Anjli gave me a signed postcard then went to do photos so we ran to get in line! She’s really nice and treated me like she’d known me for ages! (Sorry about the bad quality photo of a photo)

I'm on the right :)

I'm on the right 🙂

12.45pm We mooched around for a bit, then when Danny came to the signing desk I got my photo card signed by him.

1pm Stood first in line for the 1.30 screening. Tried to get my card signed by Tommy but just before we reached the front of the queue he got taken away, presumably to do the question and answer session at the end of the 12pm screening.

1.30 We went in! There were goody bags on our seats (a pen, a keyring, a questionnaire, a puzzle booklet and some SJA info and postcards. It was quarter to 2 by the time the actual episode started because they’d shown us upcoming shows on CBBC first.

The Wedding of Sarah Jane was the best episode of the series yet! Found it easy to keep up but it wasn’t slow paced. I’ll wait until Thursday to reveal the storyline… But it basically starts off with Sarah Jane sneaking out again and Luke, Rani and Clyde know something suspicious is going on. And SJ’s new man seems really suspicious, too. We only saw the first part of it though and the Doctor is only at the end of it.

Then there was a Q&A session with the gang (minus Lis Sladen) and things we found out were…

1. Danny supports Chelsea, Anjli supports Nottingham forest and Tommy doesn’t support any football team (he said he’s more into drums and skateboarding)

2. Before they did SJA, Anjli was in a nativity play (she told us she said ‘open sesame seed’ instead of ‘open sesame’), Tommy was in a KFC advert and Danny was in Casualty.

3. The characters don’t actually go inside the TARDIS but the actors did.

Unfortunately I can’t upload my sound recording of the Q&A (very bad quality anyway) but I’m working on it.

After the screening we queued up again to where Danny and Tommy were sitting signing people’s photos but the queue was cut off where we were standing. CBBC t-shirt people were handing out ready-signed postcards, though. So now I have all 3! 🙂

It's hard to see them both but Tommy is just behind Danny on the bench

We weren’t too keen on going on a green (grey) screen and we wouldn’t get the DVD before we left anyway because the train back was at 4pm so we went to Primark because there’s not one in Edinburgh yet. The train took 3-4 hours to get home and I spent the rest of the evening watching Day of the Clown. Today I blu-tacked everything I collected yesterday to my bedroom wall so I can show it off proudly! 😛

In other news, the SJA site now has a video all about K-9 and how to control him. The site is on the blogroll (to the right). And if you click on Luke or Clyde there’s part 1 of the video cam diaries. Rani’s profile has part 2.

This post took AGES to put up so sorry about that. Don’t forget that the Wedding of Sarah Jane is on at 4.35pm on Thursday and part 2 same time on Friday.

SJA news 😀 😛 🙂

Prisoner of the Judoon and pictures!

October 15, 2009

I’m making a sort of photo gallery on this post- some of the pics are from today and some are from the past week. I’ve also done a mini-review at the bottom of the post. This is my handiwork on my friend’s French translator/ calculator:

Made during a maths lesson ;)

Made during a maths lesson 😉

I found a Nissan Figaro, too!

I found a Nissan Figaro as well! There's next to no room on the back seats, I have no idea how SJ and co fit inside.

The cakes we had today in front of SJA (The cake at the top is meant to be Maria)

Yum :D

And finally, my mini-review of today’s episode!

Acting: Lis Sladen’s acting was superb, especially when she was taken over. The others were also really good (if a little bit cheesy, but that’s part of what makes Sarah Jane Adventures so good).

Storyline: Found it a bit hard to keep up, to be honest. It was very fast-paced to start with and we had to keep rewinding so we got what was going on. The action scenes were good but a bit short. Also we didn’t like the parts with Haresh and Gita, they’re only supposed to be Rani’s parents, not get involved with aliens (they haven’t yet, but you can tell what’s going to happen in part 2).

Special effects/ computer animation: The big hole in the block of flats was far too fake, so was most of the rest, like the falling spaceship (The meteorite in Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane? looked better and more realistic.

The episode wasn’t as good as a lot of the other SJAs but it was still exciting and funny and brought in aliens from Doctor Who. And the evil alien (can’t remember his name) was really creepy, it was a great performance.

🙂 3.9 out of 5 stars 🙂

I’m going on holiday tomorrow and won’t be back till the 23rd (the day before the Liverpool screening!). I won’t be able to post up here but look out for my review of SJA next week and pictures from the Liverpool screening next Saturday!

I also made a trailer on the SJ trailer maker:

Sarah Jane on the big screen

October 13, 2009

On Saturday and Sunday, the 24th and 25th of October, at the Odeon One centre in Liverpool, you can see the Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith at the cinema! Tickets are free but they’re on a first come, first served basis. Afterwards, there’s a question and answer session with Tommy Knight and Daniel Anthony (aka Luke and Clyde).

The tickets are available to book at:

on both the 24th and the 25th.

The booking site is at the top of my blogroll. Tickets will be snapped up very quickly so apply fast! I’ve applied for tickets at 1.30pm on the Saturday, so I’m obviously dead excited!

In other news, SJA news now has an icon! I’m not sure how to get an SJA-theme (I chose this ballpoint pen theme because Sarah Jane’s a journalist, it was the closest thing I could find) on here, but I’m working on it. Anyway, the icon should be in the address bar and if  SJA news is in your favourites, the icon should be there too. 🙂 It’s really hard to make out but the picture’s supposed to be Sarah Jane, Luke, Clyde and Rani in a series 3 publicity shot.

Less than 2 days now until SJA 3!

SJA news 😀

Longer = better!

October 12, 2009

Well, looks like got there before me because I’ve only just watched the brand new trailer for the ENTIRE series 3! It’s a whopping 2 minutes, 37 seconds long, and mainly features The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith. The gang seem to get covered in gunge about 3 times, and all over their nice wedding clothes! XD

I’ll post either screenshots (which I made myself- I’m so proud) or a video of the trailer. On youtube right now there’s an edit of the new trailer, but I decided to give it a miss. There’s also my sja-decorated calculator pictures I have to post up here, so lots to look forward to! And… less than3 days until series 3!

🙂 Big thank yous to Doctor Who tv on youtube again for this trailer. My bad-quality, pixelated screenshots are no longer needed, thank goodness! 🙂

And finally, now confirmed, the Blathereen game on the official SJA site is on the tv!

Updates to the SJA website

October 9, 2009

It must be because series 3 is just around the corner, because every few days or so there’s somehting new on the SJA official website! This time it’s a video of Rani and Clyde, asking for your help finding an alien on the internet. Not entirely sure what it’s about yet as it hasn’t been launched yet, but I’ll keep my eyes open for further updates to the site!

There’s also a comic strip on the same page as the video, with Sarah Jane and Luke looking for a spaceship (I didn’t read it all) and I think it’s the events leading up to the video.

In other news, I made some great SJA artwork yesterday which I’ll load up as soon as I work out how to get my own pictures onto the computer.

And finally, I decided that ‘Sarah Jane Adventures News’ was a bit of a mouthful and took ages to type out again and again, so it’s ‘SJA news’ now. 😀

SJA news 🙂
